Investing in a portable travel bed for my baby was quite a brainwave for me. Being a single mother, I am working and have to travel a lot in my line of work. The portable crib allows me to take my baby along with the minimum of fuss and effort. Travel bed is lighter, more compact and easier to shift around than the typical heavyweight wooden cribs at my place. Portable travel bed for my baby is of great help for vacation travels or for official tours.
Toddler Travel Bed- A home away from home
If it hadn't been for this travel bed, my baby would have gone without the comfort of a safe sleeping place away from home e.g. in hotels. Another advantage is that the travel crib is always a familiar place for my son, despite the myriad hotel rooms or countless motels we end up staying in.
Potable Baby Travel Bed - Easy to handle and use
Always make sure that you buy a travel crib made of good quality plastic which is lightweight and sturdy. Mine can also be dismantled for easy packing and transport. When purchasing the portable bed practicality and weight should be your main focus. Another important thing is to verify that the travel crib meets the required safety standards. After all, the safety of your baby isn’t a light matter. You can carry your child's favorite travel bed with you and can use in hotels or even in camping.
Two versions of the Portable Travel Bed
My sister who stays at home picked up a simpler adaptation of the travel bed- the carrycot. It is like a crib, but lighter and has handles at the sides to carry it around. She uses it to move the baby from one room to another, within the house.
Another sophisticated version I saw included the bassinet with the travel crib set. The travel bed could be used for older babies weighing not more than 30 pounds, while the bassinet comes in very handy for newborns or infants lighter than 15 pounds.
Other than the above, there are portable play yards also. The baby however shouldn’t be left sleeping in it unsupervised as they don’t meet the same safety standards as travel beds or portable cribs.
Travelers also prefer portable travel bed for traveling because it can be carried in plane without additional airfare.
